Captain Ron Tracey by grimdrifter Captain Ron Tracey by grimdrifter
"I'll be sending the next message Jim."

The Omega Glory is one of my longtime favorites from Star Trek. This episode had a number of wonderful strengths, Morgan Woodward's performance as Captain Ronald Tracey was spectacular.

This was done completely in gimp with a wacom intuos 3. I drew this by hand from a reference clip taken from the episode. While I found the angle somewhat challenging, there were a few items of mention that I quite enjoyed.

Morgan Woodward's posture is regal, commanding. The lighting was quite enjoyable to depict, Star Trek had a uniquely artistic approach to just about every scene.

I always considered this episode to be more of an anti-classic than a classic, but to each his own. But one thing you and I agree on is that Morgan Woodward's intense presence greatly enhanced everything. He was even better in his other Trek episode, "Dagger of the Mind". He was a truly great actor. (Or rather I should say "is"-- he's still with us, you know.) In any case, you have really captured him! :)

Thanks for the comment. I agree, Morgan Woodward was also excellent in "Dagger of the Mind". His performance and that of James Gregory (Dr. Tristan Adams) really made that episode.
